Monday Evening Lam Rim Meditation

The Lam Rim is a condensation of all of Buddha's 84,000 teachings into 21. At the start of each class we relax the mind and body with a meditation that cultivates mindfulness and mental stability. We then discuss one of the Lam Rim teachings, some of which are:
- Understanding the Preciousness of our Human Life
- Remembering Death and Impermanence
- Developing the Wish for Liberation from All of our Negative Minds
- Recognizing the Kindness of Others
- Wishing Love
- Cultivating Great Compassion
- Understanding the Ultimate Nature of Things: The Emptiness of All Phenomena
Lam Rim Meditations are the basis of Kadampa Buddhist mental development, and provide a complete summary of the essential teachings of Buddha. Students with all levels of experience with Buddhism and meditation are welcome.
The class meets from 7pm to 8pm. The cost is $8, with discounts for students and seniors. No one turned away for lack of funds.
