The Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Amitayus

Saturday, May 19th from 10am to 4pm (with a break for lunch)

With Western Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Tilopa

Cost:  $50 ($30 for seniors, students, and underemployed)

There is nothing more precious to us than our human life. It gives us opportunities to experience deep inner peace and happiness and to become a source of happiness for others.

The main obstacles to experiencing pure happiness are death and a lack of wisdom. Death destroys our opportunity to take the essence of a precious human life, and lack of wisdom destroys our opportunity to develop pure inner peace. To overcome these obstacles, we need to increase our lifespan and our wisdom. The principal method for doing this is receiving the blessings and engaging in the practice of Buddha Amitayus.

Receiving the Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Amitayus connects us to the method of increasing our life span and wisdom through meditation. If we then engage in the method of maintaining and improving this connection, and relying upon him with faith, our life span, wisdom, and good qualities will naturally increase.

Gen Kelsang Tilopa will grant the Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Amitayus and give teachings on how to engage in the practice.

This is an advanced practice, but no one will be kept out.   If you feel that this is right for you, then you are welcome to join us.   It is a lovely ceremony, and there are meditations and teachings.   It is totally up to you whether you actually go through the actions of receiving the empowerment during the ceremony if you do join us.

You don’t need to pre-register for the empowerment.   We will have a table set up downstairs where you can pay.  Please arrive about 15-20 minutes early so that we can have everyone ready to go in at 10am.   You can pay by cash or check.
