Drop-in Program of Self-Development for Everyone
Wednesdays at 7-8:30pm with Buddhist teacher David Rademacher
Cost: $10 ($7 for students and seniors)
The General Program of meditation and teachings is tailored for anyone interested in finding out about the Buddhist way of meditating and thinking about life’s opportunities and challenges. The purpose is to help anyone find peace and happiness in everyday life. These self-contained classes give a basic introduction to Buddhist philosophy, psychology and meditation.
Current class series: Our current class series is a six session series on Understanding the Mind: The Buddhist view on the nature and function of the mind.
This traditional explanation of Buddhist Psychology provides a model of how we construct reality, how we create the delusions that are the causes of suffering, and the techniques we can use to free ourselves.
New Class Series: On March 19th we will start a four session series called Mindfulness for a Happy Life .
We all want happiness. We need to find ways to change our minds not only within meditation, but also out into our daily lives. In this series we find how we can extend our meditation practices using mindfulness.
Learn to extend your experience of love and compassion, and to see even the most difficult daily experience as a way to practice patience instead of anger or anxiety. By identifying the sort of minds that make a difference in our lives, we can learn to extend their presence so we can find the peace we truly desire.
Classes are on a drop-in basis. You do not need to sign up for the whole course or a sub-series.
No previous meditation experience required. Everyone is welcome!
