About Kosala

Who we Are

Kosala  Mahayana Kadampa Buddhist Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Buddhist meditation Center which offers classes on meditation and Buddhism in Carrboro, Chapel Hill and throughout the Triangle for all levels of interest. We are run entirely by volunteers and keep our doors open with class fees and the contributions from people like you!

Kosala Center is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union, a western-based Buddhist tradition that follows the pure Mahayana Buddhist teachings of Atisha (AD 982 – 1054) and Je Tsongkhapa (AD 1357 – 1419), as presented for contemporary society by modern-day Buddhist master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (b. 1931).
