Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka Retreat

Cost:  $5 per session (suggested donation)

The puja/retreat sessions will be hosted and guided by Resident Teacher Ethan Lechner

The instructions of Kadampa Buddhism were originally taught by Buddha Shakyamuni, but it is through the kindness of the Spiritual Guide that these instructions can take root in our heart and ripen as inner realizations. Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche is the root Spiritual Guide of modern Kadampa practitioners.  During this retreat, we will be performing the ritual prayer, “The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra”.  Composed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, and extracted from the Ganden Emanation Scripture, this sadhana, or ritual prayer for spiritual attainments, is a perfect preparation for Mahamudra meditation. Through engaging in this practice of Guru yoga – a special way of relying upon our Spiritual Guide – we can quickly receive the blessings of all the Buddhas.

By reciting and contemplating this prayer, faithful Kadampa practitioners can connect with his inspiration and guidance as they make their own progress toward enlightenment.
